chest pain, angina, angiography and effect on kidneys !

Patient: Questions
Hello Doctor,
The patient is my Dad. Lately he suffers from a heaviness in the chest while walking briskly which gradually becomes a discomfort and then a pain in the angina. He has to literally stop walking or remain in a immobile position to come off the pain. Such symptoms is experienced only while walking briskly and never while exercising or doing any other activity in a stationary position.Last week he underwent the stress test which he could not carry on for more than 2 min. His ECG and 2d eco test was found to be normal. He's got BP and sugar but under control with medication. His cholesterol level is also normal. Doctors have claimed it to be a peculiar case and asked him go for angiography. I have heard that the dye used in the angiography at times causes kidney failure. Pls advise what could be the problem with him and should he actually go for angiography. If yes, then will angiography cause any kind of ailments relating to kidney. Pls help.
